You might have a point, Richter, if LOGCLPGM was the only way to get entries into the job log. There are perfectly good ILE API's for writing entries into the job log from RPG, C, or CL. Any decent programmer who works in these languages knows them and uses them profusely in any multi-step procedural task such as the one you describe. We were working on a problem with one of the vendor feeds yesterday. This is a large sysytem and I dont have access to the production partition. operations emailed me the 50 page joblog and I was able to track down the problem. If I had used RPG as you suggest that would not have been possible. -Steve
