You might find this interesting ... Changing OS/400 Command Defaults.Seems to me there is a gotcha here with respect to how to handle OS/400 upgrades when you doing this kind of thing.
http://www.itjungle.com/fhg/fhg101905-story03.htmlSimilar deal when updating message members in BPCS then along comes a new collection from SSA, so we have to have another library with collection of our inserts, then merge our inserts with whatever got replaced in BPCS upgrade.
So we have to know how to do substitutions, and also how to handle version upgrades, and reinstate our substitutions.
Hello,I am sure there are numerous examples. I had a rude awakening w/ the SAVCHGOBJ command. The default for Journaled objects is *NO. That means that a journaled object does not get saved on this command. I am interested in putting together a list of crucial examples like that, where someone might not notice or pay enough attension to the default. I will send this list to anyone who wants a copy or possibly it can be posted somewhere. I was thinking more in terms of Admin and Ops but this could be open to languages as well. If this is more for off line please do so.Thank you, Phil --
