Phil,

I'm sure there are a LOT that I have done and forgotten right now (ages does
that. :-) ) but, seeing your example, I have just remembered that the
USEOPTBLK parameter has *YES as a default. We had a big reminder of what can
happen when one customer sent us a box with about 20 tapes for DUPTAPing
between different formats.

In the programming area a "gotcha" I have seen many times is people
forgetting that for the LOKUP opcode the array must be sorted beforehand.

And yes, I would love to have a copy of that list!!

subject: Interested in creating a 'Gotcha' list

Hello,

I am sure there are numerous examples. I had a rude awakening w/ the
SAVCHGOBJ command. The default for Journaled objects is *NO. That means
that a journaled object does not get saved on this command. I am
interested in putting together a list of crucial examples like that, where
someone might not notice or pay enough attension to the default. I will
send this list to anyone who wants a copy or possibly it can be posted
somewhere. I was thinking more in terms of Admin and Ops but this could be
open to languages as well. If this is more for off line please do so.

Thank you,

Phil
