CL is primarily a wrapper to invoke commands and other programs, not to write business logic. But I'm not going to argue the obvious; I really just wanted to point out that these folks may not be the most iSeries savvy. Any time invested writing commands to use CL to execute and process SQL statements was wasted, because all of those features are available in REXX. And if you know CL syntax, you already know REXX.
