This is off the top of my head, but I'm sure someone will correct me if
I mis-speak: Partition support is dependant on the processor, the Pulsar
and IStar processors (some 6xx, Sxx and 7xx n-way boxes) support full
processor LPar, the SStar processors support fractional processor LPar
and the Power processors support dynamic fractional processor LPar.

Linux is supported on SStar processors and up.

Hope this helps.

subject: Determine if a box can be partitioned?

I'm posting this for a co-worker ...

"Does anyone know if there is there a way to determine if a box can be
partitioned, like by model number perhaps? The thought is, the newer
systems can be partitioned, do you think I can get a list from IBM or
somewhere that would tell me what models of iSeries can be partitioned?"

Thanks!

david
