Free 5250 emulation is available through tn5250j at sourceforge (sf.net). Since it is an open source project you can pretty much use it as you need to. I know of at least one user on the tn5250j list that has modified to the code to do some "facing" (and there has been talk from others). We had a guy from Seagull (I think) working on the code as well.
