Chris, I snipped this from an article I found... http://www.iseries400experts.com/aiw/02-2304.jsp Time zone support. Time zone support will be enhanced over the next few iSeries hardware releases, starting with V5R3 (IW 1/5/04). "The next release of iSeries hardware will ship in 65 time zones, and when you go to the next release of OS/400 (V5R3), you will have a variety of different ways to tell the system what time zone you are running in. In future releases, you will be able to run different jobs in different time zones, all in a single partition," says an Insider source close to IBM. This means that the underlying machine runs in GMT, although customer interfaces appear in local time, and different systems can negotiate time in different manners. For example, when the Paris office is attempting to negotiate time with the Tokyo office, they will be able to accurately negotiate the time difference. We are opening an office in Tennessee. How can I have those employees in Tennessee in their local TZ while the CA office stays in it's local TZ. When is IBM going to add a TZ value for user profiles / job descriptions. (Frankly I would record all transactions in UTC and display local TZ for the users but not my choice.) Chris Bipes Information Services Director CrossCheck, Inc. -----Original Message----- There is also QTIMZONE this automatically updates for daylight savings. I would think if you have specified the other system as the same as home office, it should stay in sync.
