What do you want it to do? Should it just inform you? We're setup to simply forward everything from QSYSOPR or QSYSMSG (QUPSMSGQ is set to QSYSMSG) to our syslog server. The syslog server is then setup to send my phone an e-mail if it sees any messages with QSYSMSG in it. Given the brownouts we have around here I can tell you it works great. <G> We chose this solution because it centralizes all our system reporting on a common platform. The iSeries, the firewalls, the servers, and even the remote servers in remote data center all report their syslog entries back to a common server here in the office. From one point I can see everything that's happening in the enterprise. Program MSGQ1 simply sets the MSGQ to break mode and hangs out. http://code.midrange.com/index.php?id=a27b47776d Program MSGHDLR - Gets each message and sends it off to syslog server http://code.midrange.com/index.php?id=aa8da122bf -Walden ------------ Walden H Leverich III Tech Software (516) 627-3800 x11 WaldenL@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx http://www.TechSoftInc.com Quiquid latine dictum sit altum viditur.
