Sorry for the late reply, beiong away for a short vacation.

Have you tried to use the Display Long Message API? It can be found under the 
User Interface APIs part of the manuals. I do not know how it deal with the 
formatiing codes, but it shows the text in its own window (IIRC seventy 
characters per line).
