I don't have a manual but I'm betting on the lock. Check the keylock switch on 
the side of the logic element. -Marty

Anyone got a manual for an IBM 3196 screen handy and can tell me what 
'LK' means and why it's stopping with that on the display, rather than 
offering a sign-on screen?
