Right - this is so cool and has been this way for a long time. The other requirement is that the target name have a .savf extension. This IS documented in the FTP manual.

Actually no it doesn't. But you have to transfer in namefmt 1 for that
to work.

I think I have lost my mind.  I can't for the life of me remember how to

get a save file from a non-iSeries machine to an iSeries.  I'm using ftp

and everytime I try to transfer the file I get this:

ftp> put validation.savf rcvsavf
local: validation.savf remote: rcvsavf
200 PORT subcommand request successful.
150 Sending file to member RCVSAVF in file RCVSAVF in library JAMES.
426-Cannot write to member RCVSAVF in file RCVSAVF in library JAMES.
426 Data transfer ended.

Can anyone help?
