we have a backup running at a client that runs in QCTL...first thing it does is brings down qinter, qpgmr and qbatch...then does the backups, dedicated nightly stuff, calls qstrup and submits the rest of the nightly runs....

Bill,

Have you considered just shutting down the QINTER subsystem while you do
your saves? Why track individual users and their devices?

We are a 9-5 shop and ages ago I created a CL program with DLYJOB to do
SAVCHGOBJ & SAVLIB at night while nobody should be using programs/files.
However, as the business has grown and more users have been added it's
becoming a problem that users sometimes forget to sign-off and sit in a
program overnight causing certain files to not be saved. Does anyone know
how I can stop this from happening?
