WAD

Windows by default sends the signed-on user's Windows ID and password when
attempting to access network resources.

Netserver, while using SMB to be compatible with Windows clients, isn't an
actual Windows server and thus doesn't validate the passed ID and password
against the Windows domain but instead validates against the iSeries own user
ID's.

If this cause to much trouble, you could always check into using Kerberos with
Single-Sign-On for Netserver.
