No.  This is an requirement to IBM.  You would have to have encryption
hardware at the IOP/IOA level, as this would be too expensive to do in
software.

Does the i5 support tape encryption?  Does anyone use it?  (Remembering
the debacle where a bunch of backup tapes with SSN's, etc on it for some
major firm came up missing.)
