I don't think Doug was really being holier than thou, Shannon, and I think his response is a little more tempered than a lot of the comments in this thread. The point about the Memo to Users is VERY important. And while it seems pretty clear to me that the section marked Operating System contains the changes that would impact programs, I'd like to see a separate document with bright red borders entitled "RELEASE INCOMPATIBILITIES". Eclipse has just such a document in their APIs, where they outline issues as well as provide solutions. Anyway, it's a fix to a serious security problem and I think they handled it relatively well.
