Is there ethernet to connect the printer or only twinax and ports in dumb terminals ? I would also add, ALWAYS recommend only printers in IBM's Knowledge Base docs for supported ascii printers. There is no "it should work..." and many off brand printers and even certain model main brand printers will not reliably talk to an iSeries. Avoid anything labelled as a "windows-only" printer. And avoid all the "buy this computer & get a free printer cr*p". For ethernet, I stick to "network" printers from HP (an "N" at the end of the model number, like HP 4xxxN or 2xxxN. (DN is duplex print and network ready). For IPDS printing I like Lexmark printers with Lexmark IPDS cards. just my opinion. jim franz ----- Original Message ----- From: "Booth Martin" <booth@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2005 11:09 AM Subject: What laser printer to buy? > What laser printer to buy?
