Larry,NOLA is under defacto marshall law with shoot to kill orders. Frankly the CBD is nothing more than a big pool of sepsis. Comm/telco in the area south of I-10 is down. Folks are communicating with CB and Ham radio. Cops don't even have comm.
I trust you saw the front page to today's NY Times. In all probability, they don't have a company to go back to at this point and like many others are in rebuild mode. My cousin probably lost his company as well, and home (they were 2 blocks from the dike that broke). But once things come back together down there, they will have need for his company and I expect them to rebuild. It's a very fluid situation and just going to take a while to filter itself out.
There are several lists around of people looking for missing and just saying they're alive. Craigslist is one and there's others.
BTW, has anyone heard from Hoss? Don in DC ------------------------------------------------ On Fri, 2 Sep 2005, rob@xxxxxxxxx wrote:

I have been attempting to contact one of my customers there from the very beginning to offer assistance. I have home/work/cell phones for several folks there but outside of one time where I got one of the guy's voice mail message I have not been able to get other than a busy signal. Their web and email are out. Given they are 100 ft from I-10 it's unlikely they have anything besides a dark wet building at this time. If anyone has any brilliant ideas of how to contact anyone in that area, please let me know privately. I'm coming up empty. - Larry -- Larry Bolhuis IBM eServer Certified Systems Expert: Vice President iSeries Technical Solutions V5R3 Arbor Solutions, Inc. iSeries LPAR Technical Solutions V5R3 1345 Monroe NW Suite 259 iSeries Linux Technical Solutions V5R3 Grand Rapids, MI 49505 iSeries Windows Integration Technical Solutions V5R3 IBM eServer Certified Systems Specialist (616) 451-2500 iSeries System Administrator for OS/400 V5R3 (616) 451-2571 - Fax AS/400 RPG IV Developer (616) 260-4746 - Cell iSeries System Command Operations V5R2 If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier. -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l.
