I think it is that IBM decision making executives have zero love for
the art of computing. They are not the get your hands dirty,
tinkering, always trying to improve the process types. The people at
Microsoft are running circles around IBM.

My prediction is IBM will consolidate down to two platforms from
three. Our system will be the odd one out.  Half of the iSeries will
go to the mainframe, the other half to the Linux/Unix pSeries.
