The zSeries takes almost half the systems admin budget while only 20% (I'm being very generous) of the applications run on it. We aquired the mainframe 8 odd years ago when we purchased a package (including source) which was written in mainframe COBOL. Our leadership, at the time, should have converted it to COBOL/400 CICS/400 and save the company millions but that is another story....
