I strongly suggest, if it is not working in V5R3 the way it did in V5R2, call IBM Support and report it. It is rare for them to change things like this. If there has been a change, they will tell you. If not, a PMR will be created and a fix will happen.

This assumes you have maintenance. This is almost always the case these days.
