Be generous; disk & RAM are cheap.  My former email address here was
'@am.joneslanglasalle.com' which is 24 characters without specifying who
the email is actually addressed to.  I'd recommend a minimum of 50
characters if space is tight but would rather see it at 128.  I really
doubt you'd see an address longer than that.
