Subject: RE: midrangenews.net

Just to be clear, I have NO evidence that Stellar Debris has anything to
do with California Software, other than the fact that the spam allegedly
came from midrangenews.com, which belongs to Mr. Christopher. In fact,
according to sources, Mr. Christopher denies having anything to do with
California Software. And the Internet address the spam came from,
216.231.0.130, does not resolve and does not respond to TCP/IP requests.
It is also NOT listed as the MX record for midrangenews.com (or
midrangenews.net, for that matter). So without any further evidence,
any association between Stellar Debris and Califronia Software is
circumstantial at best.

So let's look elsewhere. For this sort of stuff, I absolutely LOVE the
Internet. There is great fun and much information to be had with a
little snooping. Let's look at the registrant for the midrangenews.net
domain, shall we? Well, at least the perpetrator went so far as to
dream up a pseudonym ("David LaMarr") for registering the domain
(although I think that's illegal, isn't it?). Anyway, they evidently
weren't quite creative enough to come up with a false address. The
address, 3719 Keri Way in Fallbrook, CA, was purchased in 2002 for
$800,000. The person listed as living at that property is also listed
as having contributed $1000 to John Kerry's presidential campaign
according to the Senator's public Schedule 17A filing. The addressee of
record?

Bruce Acacio, CEO, California Software.

Did I mention that I love the Internet?

Joe
