IBM came up with RCLSTG back on the /38 when the interrelationship between objects went kaflu all the time. Most people rarely run RCLSTG today, unless they are directed to. I tend to run it after any abnormal termination. The specific problem is that if you have QSYSOPR in break mode at the console (somewhat likely), go into a restricted state to do RCLSTG, the next to last think that RCLSTG does is to put QSYSOPR back into break mode. The last thing it does is capture the time of the ending and post it to the QRCLSTG data area, which will be available to report how long the RCLSTG took. The problem is that when QSYSOPR breaks, it hangs the console job, so the time is nor captured and posted until the message is responded to. PTFs to fix this: V5R3 SI18949 V5R2 SI19950 Al Al Barsa, Jr. Barsa Consulting Group, LLC 400>390 "i" comes before "p", "x" and "z" e gads Our system's had more names than Elizabeth Taylor! 914-251-1234 914-251-9406 fax http://www.barsaconsulting.com http://www.taatool.com http://www.as400connection.com -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
