I generally use a message subfile to show messages with one indicator for each field for highlighting and such. This subfile works with a message utility program that places specified message in the program message queue. The primary advantages are that substitution variables may be easily used and, unlike ERRMSG* and SFLMSG*, any data placed into the screen fields will be displayed along with the error. I believe there are examples of this technique available. If you can't find any, I'll be happy to share. Donald R. Traditionally I would use an indicator for each hard-coded message and use SFLMSG or ERRMSG and the ERRSFL keyword. What solutions do you folks prefer? <clip>
