I'd not tried viewing the spool file (what a fool) - on clicking on spool file 
get message :-

CWBNP1012 - The Following error occurred while communicating with the job
051696/quser/qnpservs on system xxxxxxxxxx CPF3492 - not authorised to spool 
file

So false alarm, sorry about that -  I expected it to be like green screen.
