Jim ... I vote for Portland Oregon ... The conference center is across the river, but there is FREE light rail that connect it with downtown. A 10 minute trip. Lots of hotel rooms downtown. And the downtown is clean, safe and compact. The best time to have a conference in Portland would be FALL though. Spring would be too wet.
