The error message says the port is not found. -----Original Message----- From: midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:midrange-l-bounces@xxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Jim Franz Sent: Friday, July 22, 2005 1:28 PM To: Midrange Systems Technical Discussion Subject: Re: remote writer My response really relates to remote printing that sometimes works, like printer getting 40 pages into a report and hangs in the SND status, or after a long report, the next report hangs in the SND status. That's where the timeout value on the printer itself, or a print server card like Jet Direct, is important, and generally needs to be increased. Your problem is more of a "not talking to it at all". If you do a WRKOUTQ QEZJOBLOG and look for latest joblogs of the printer jobs, you might find some detail in there that sheds some light. jim ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dwayne Allison" <Dwayne.Allison@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Midrange Systems Technical Discussion" <midrange-l@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, July 22, 2005 1:11 PM Subject: RE: remote writer > Sorry, a lot over the head.
