IOW if I understand you correctly, you could be running a batch job with little or no logging (shop standard?), then when you encounter an unexpected error, you could: CHGJOB LOG(4 00 *SECLVL) LOGCLPGM(*YES) Before RETURNing or sending an *ESCAPE message, and get the complete "log like a son of a gun" joblog from the start of the job. I can't believe I never thought of that before. It also means you can't suppress a part of the joblog for security reasons.
