You can. And others have done it. Things will get corrupted. Stuff will get out of sync. Like, when you restore the IFS and IBM put a V5R3 object in some directory and restore over it with your V5R2 stuff. But if you don't care about doing actual work on it, go ahead and just do the restore. Me, I'd do the upgrade to V5R3 first. Rob Berendt
