We have a 740 and a small 40S. The 740 will run up to V5R3. The 40S will run only up to V5R1.

Hi Al,

Specifically, my client has a lot of systems round the world, and quite a
few are 720s. Many are still on V4R4, can they run V5R1? Also V5R2 and
above, or not??
Also isn't there an IBM site somewhere that tells which releases are no
longer supported??
And some of them haven't been paying their IBM software support, so will
there be a penalty?

Many thanks,

Clare

I don't know of a site, but if you send along specific questions, I can
likely answer them.

Hi,

Can anyone point me at an IBM site (or non-IBM site) that gives a quick
guide to which OS versions will run on which (old) hardware??

Many thanks,

cheers,

Clare

Seems more likely to be coming from a UPS.

I have an Old AS400 model 400 that gives me 3 beeps every minute or so.
What is that? This is coming from the computer itself, not the console.
