We use 3 ways: Web faced application (RPG with 5250). The Iseries must be on Internet or you can access via VPN. This is the best method, no transfer, no sync nothing at all but programs. The PDA's must be able to connect to Internet in some way. (Palm Os has a lot of software) Local programs in any language compatible with PDA's OS and the data served/received via FTP over Internet. The FTP server can be the Iseries but any other server is ok. A VPN connection is not required but suggested. The same as the second one but the data exchange done via craddle/cables. You need a local pc to act as "server". The connection to the Iseries is handled 100% on the PC. If you need to acces real time data on the Iseries the first one is the right one.
