While this will probably assist in set retrieval, which is what SQL is good at, chances are good it will hurt performance in a conventional Chain type scenario. Have you explored all of your other buffering options? Like Block(*yes) in the compiler to allow blocking on SETLL/READ subfile fill type operations?
