Since the device name is coming from the emulator, which has features to lock its control panels away from busy little eyes (I know; I wrote them), I can rely on the device ID series as an indication that it's the public session.
Consider setting up a subsystem for the generic device name (being sure to put the same generic name with AT(*ENTER) in subsystems that have workstation type entries).
Then use the method discussed recently to create a signon screen with the user-id and password hard-coded.
