Also.... don't forget the new integer data types in V5R3 CL ... it keeps you from needing to use %BIN
I'm not sure how that would be applicable to this situation. I still have to use %BIN() to extract the first 2 bytes from the 102 byte parameter, don't I?
The code might be slightly faster if I used an integer instead of a decimal field for &COUNT and &POS, but I don't think that would've eliminated the need for %BIN.
