Yes this is true Al .... but there are many more benefits to journaling your
production data environment. 

If you use remote journaling, you have an "up to the last transaction"
offsite save of your production data between backups. 

It is a requirement in a "commit" environment.

It provides a wonderful audit record of what is going on with your
production data.
