Ignorance of product features or limitations is not an indication of a loophole or vulnerability.



The same applies to the iSeries implementation of LDAP. A limited iSeries user cannot run WRKUSRPRF, but the LDAP query provides full information about a group of local users, including all of the profile attributes.

A limited user can press SysRq then 3 Enter. From there option 13 displays the library list. Choose option 5 next to QSYS or QUSRSYS and you will be able to find user profiles and their message queues (respectively). This has already been rehashed numerous times. Users CAN use objects to which they have authority.


I'm more concerned that LMTCPB only applies to the command line. I don't run the FTP server on my iSeries because I can't allow users to run commands. If ever WAD was to be questioned as a deficient design, this is the time.
