Yes, zip codes are funny creatures. There are at least two Post Offices closer to my house than the one that delivers my mail. One of them is less than 3 miles from my front door and is on the same road I live on. Also, the PO that delivers my mail is in a different legal jurisdiction than where my taxable property lies. I just checked my zip code database, and in Virginia alone, there are 460 zipcodes with more than one city name out of 1262 distinct zipcodes. 3 zipcodes have 8 different names! There are 120 City Names that have more than one zipcode out of 1420 distinct city names. None of this takes into account zipcodes that may cross State bounderies. Joel Cochran http://www.rpgnext.com
