I think he wanted a program way so that when someone ran his install
program he didn't have to rely on their manual checking.

Also, there are some programs that show up in DSPSFWRSC that do not show
up on option 10. Therefore I never use option 10. Although I just tried
it and I can't think of one. Maybe it's been enhanced over the releases.
Now I just don't understand the sort order (if any) in option 10.

Re: Checking for Licensed programs

Pete,
Option 10 on the LICPGM menu will display all licensed programs that are
installed.

I thought I had asked this before but I couldn't find a reference to it
either in my Sent items or in the archives....senior moment I guess...

During installation of an application, I need to check to make sure that
certain Licensed Programs are installed before proceeding (Like Qshell
and the 1.4 JDK....). Is there an API I can call to retrieve this
information? How about Group PTF's (Like the Java Group PTF's)? I
think these hang out in data areas but I am not sure.

Thanks,

Pete Helgren
