We're getting used to some new IBM 1145 Multifunction printers that we recently installed and are noticing a delay after a job prints from an AS/400 outq. For around 40 seconds after the job prints, the printer display shows 'busy network' and then goes back to ready status (and then is available for a copy/fax/network job). In the interest of reducing contention for the printer, i'm wanting to decrease the delay before the next job will kick in. I'm pretty sure the setting I need to adjust is the "inactivity timer" setting on the printer device description (i'd like to set it to *SEC15, which looks to be the minumum), but am not able to bring up this setting. The device is configured as *IPDS instead of a 3812. Is this not something that can be adjusted when configured as *IPDS? Thanks for any possible advice from someone who knows! _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
