Hi Pete,

Take a look at the various Software Product APIs in the Information Center. They are located under Programming -> APIs -> APIs By Category -> Software Product.

I know that the Retrieve Product Information (QSZRTVPR) API can be used to check for a product being loaded.

There are also various APIs that retrieve info about PTFs, though I haven't tried them. List PTF Groups (QpzListPtfGroups) List PTF Group Details (QpzListPtfGroupDetails) and Retrieve Program Temporary Fix Information (QPZRTVFX) look promising.

Good luck...

I thought I had asked this before but I couldn't find a reference to it either in my Sent items or in the archives....senior moment I guess...

During installation of an application, I need to check to make sure that certain Licensed Programs are installed before proceeding (Like Qshell and the 1.4 JDK....). Is there an API I can call to retrieve this information? How about Group PTF's (Like the Java Group PTF's)? I think these hang out in data areas but I am not sure.

Thanks,

Pete Helgren
