I found that in my research and it (LTSP) had some promise for someone wanting a more home grown solution. We needed a more complete solution with vendor support, etc. Two vendors that we looked closely at were Neoware and IGEL (they both offered a flash chip upgrade for the existing IBM 2200s). It's a shame that IBM's Netstation Manager went by the wayside... it was a great product that fit us really well. One issue we had with the newer solutions we looked at was that settings (display settings, keyboard maps, etc.) are station based instead of user based (keyed on the user that authenticated to the thin client). How about using the Linux Terminal Server Project (http://www.ltsp.org)? I think it handles netstations. And it won't cost you. James Rich It's not the software that's free; it's you. - billyskank on Groklaw -- This is the Midrange Systems Technical Discussion (MIDRANGE-L) mailing list To post a message email: MIDRANGE-L@xxxxxxxxxxxx To subscribe, unsubscribe, or change list options, visit: http://lists.midrange.com/mailman/listinfo/midrange-l or email: MIDRANGE-L-request@xxxxxxxxxxxx Before posting, please take a moment to review the archives at http://archive.midrange.com/midrange-l. _____________________________________________________________________________ Scanned by IBM Email Security Management Services powered by MessageLabs.
