The biggest spool file on our production system right now is a 3,629 page

Server writers. I'll shoot that one on to you.
On our development system I do have a 107,109 page simple spool file if
you need a bigger test.

scs2pdf will happily handle both those files (assuming they are SCS and not AFP).

In case people are wondering, scs2pdf works by creating a printer session and then working with the data sent by the iSeries when a spooled file is sent to that out queue. scs2pdf translates the printer control commands into pdf commands. This results in pdfs that are searchable and small.

Because of the way lp5250d works, there is an amazing amount of flexibility when it comes to printing. You tell lp5250d how to handle the output it receives from the iSeries. You can convert it to pdf, postscript, or plain ascii. You can email it, print it, save it, or delete it. You can save it, convert it, and then email it.
