Mike,

I once worked in a shop that used a fingerprint reader to gain access to the
computer room.  My manager would use her fingerprint to get the reader to
set up a new user.  It would train itself to recognize your fingerprint with
a couple of tries with your index finger.  Required occasional cleaning of
the dirty small scanner window but otherwise it worked pretty well.  Don't
remember the make or model.  Might not be flexible enough for your
requirements.
