Hello Jeff and Neil, As far as I know, the hole punch feature of AFP has only been implemented into a FORMDEF method of being activated to date. You would therefore need to link a FORMDEF, with hole punch enabled, to the printer file used by your application. The following example is from the Finishing Manual S544-5845-01 and is copyright IBM. "Many form definitions do not use a copy group to specify a finishing operation. In this case, all the pages of the print file or document are printed according to the same finishing specifications. Figure 1 shows an example of a form definition with the finish subcommand that specifies left hole punch for all documents in the print file. Figure 2 shows the hole punched page that is produced from the form definition. FORMDEF PUNC3 REPLACE YES PRESENT PORTRAIT DIRECTION ACROSS FINISH SCOPE ALL OPERATION PUNCH REFERENCE LEFT;" In order to use a PJL command and host print transform to accomplish the same thing (punch holes), you need the tsprwprfin.c print writer exit program available from Rodney Johnson of IBM (rodaj@xxxxxxxxxx). He posted a note on the availability of this file last May in the comp.sys.ibm.as400.misc usenet newsgroup. The file (C source code) includes an explanation of how to activate hole punch using the exit program.
