The QADB* family of files are where this information is stored. However,
to be compatible with other implementations of database lookup, IBM
created the QSYS2 library and the standard set of file names used in DB
lingo, like SYSCOLUMNS, etc. These are basically logical files pointing
to the QADB* family of files.

One thing nice about keeping your field names alike is the ability to
query these files and see what database(s) contain the field you are
interested in.

Subject
Field Cross-Reference File???

I seem to remember reading a post within the past year that I can't find
in
the archives now. Basically, I'm remembering that there was a file like
QADBXREF but that it had field names. Am I crazy?
