IPDS and AFPDS -- MIDRANGE-L

This might sound like a dumb question but I don't really deal with
printers too much. If a printer has AFPDS capabilities would it also
have IPDS capabilities? If so do I need to configure the printer to use
a certain vendor/printer specific PDT file in order for it to print
IPDS? We have a printer that has no problem with AFPDS print files, but
will not print IPDS. I'm guessing the printer doesn't support IPDS, but
I wanted to make sure.
