I think he's talking about clicking on a URL that is displayed. In CAE's PC5250 I'm pretty sure that this does not happen at the 400, it is happening in Windows - the emulator program is opening the link, so RUNRMTCMD does not even enter the picture.

You're right, that's what he's saying. The problem with that is, you have to be able to change the emulation software, which Lim has already said is too big of a project, so he's looking for something simpler.


I think Sudha's suggestion is an interesting alternative. Of course, he'd have to get rexec software for the PCs, but it would allow the opening of a browser window.

IMHO, the best alternative is to get rid of the green screen and go with a web interface. At that point, a clickable link is REALLY easy, plus you'll have modernized your interface and eliminated any need for 5250 altogether.

But, of course, that's even more work :)
