I've got a client for whom we built an application several years ago. It uses Palm Pilots for data collection, and then the user transmits the data to/from the iSeries using his cell phone as a modem. Works flawlessly. Some of those old Palm Pilots are wearing out, and we have been unable to get new Palm Pilots to run the application properly. The application was built using Satellite Forms. The communications piece was custom built. The client is now wondering if there might be a more modern and more easily supportable method out there. One requirement is that they do not want to incur monthly wireless charges if they can use the cell phones as a modem, nor do they want the foremen who carry these devices to surf the net. Any and all suggestions are invited. Thanks Paul Nelson Arbor Solutions, Inc. 708-670-6978 Cell pnelson@xxxxxxxxxx
