Jonathan,
Thanks. I was able to do what you suggested and I was able to get a
print out to the printer.

If you can print to the printer from within Windows, however you attach
it, then you need to go into the Client Access program group and click
on the icon to configure a session. In the configuration screen you
will be able to select whether it is a display or printer session and
you should choose the printer setting. In the workstation or session
name field give it a name (e.g. INTERMEC) and then click on the OK
button.

A printer "control panel" window will be displayed, and you should be
able to go into the File menu and select which printer you want the
session to point to. Select your label printer and when done use the
File - Save menu and option to save the configuration definition.

An output queue called INTERMEC will be created on the 400. On the
AS/400 you can direct spool files to this queue and any in the RDY
status will be sent to the printer via Client Access.

Note, that a) the queue will only "work" when the printer session is
running, and b) you'll need to be careful about the size of the spool
files (page height, width, etc) that you send to the printer.

This is all from memory, so my apologies if it's not too explicit.

All the best

Jonathan
