I think the short answer is that there are certain models (like the 520
and 590) that are i5's. Other boxes are iSeries' and other boxes are
AS/400's. So that designation depends on the model.

The other question is the interesting one. In the world of
consolidation, all those things you mention are running on the i5 (or
iSeries or AS/400). The fact that they're using a different
'translator' (PASE) or a different processor (IXS) or a different OS
(AIX/Linux) doesn't matter - it's still running on the i5. That's what
makes this system unique.

And I can see the difference between running something natively or not.
Native to me is running the executable directly under a supported OS
(OS/400, AIX, Linux), so running something that requires PASE isn't
native. Of course, that doesn't really matter - it's just another
method of getting code  to execute.
